Excellence and happiness for all

Year 2

The Year 2 Class Teachers are Mrs Ingle, Mrs Jones and Mrs Reddish.

Teachers

Mrs Ingle is supported in class by  Mrs Vlack. Mrs Jones and Mrs Reddish are supported by Mrs Ramsay.  At times, however, Mrs Ramsay and Mrs Vlack work across the year group.  Miss Dolan also teaches in Mrs Ingle’s class one day a week. Mrs Denton also teach for one session per week each in Mrs Reddish’s and Mrs Jones’ class.

We are usually in the playground from 8.45am; please feel free to catch us there or leave us a message on Class Dojo, or in your child’s home/school book.

Curriculum

We cover National Curriculum 2014 objectives, and have several cross-curricular themes throughout the year:

Homework

In Year 2, we would like you to support your child primarily with reading, spellings and knowing number facts.

Please read regularly (daily if possible) with your child and record this in their individual Reading Record.

Children will be given spellings on a weekly basis and these will be targeted to your child’s individual needs.  Sometimes these follow the phonics patterns we are learning and sometimes they will include Common Exception Words.

Common Exception Words (55kB)

Please help your child to learn these.

Learn-it instant recall sheets will be sent home weekly will allow you to help your child learn number facts.  Maths homework is also set on the website “My Maths” and your child will be given an individual username and password.
