Excellence and happiness for all

World Book Day

Posted 23rd February 2018

Come in pyjamas and bring your favourite book.

On Thursday March 1st, we will be celebrating World Book Day by coming to school in our pyjamas and bringing a bedtime story to read. Classes have been paired up and will be reading to each other.

We will also be entering a national competition where the prize is £100 of books. Children are required to decorate a potato as a book character. There are some great ideas online such as Mr Bump, Harry Potter and the Where’s Wally character (just google book character potato or look on Pintrest). Some classes will be carrying out the potato competition in class whilst others are setting it as an optional fun activity to complete at home. Your class teacher will DoJo whether or not the class is doing it in school or at home. All entries must be in school by Wednesday February 28th as the best potatoes from each class will be photographed and entered in the national competition.

It sounds great fun and the children were very keen when Miss Dodgson announced the competition in assembly earlier this week.
