Lockdown – Recycle your unwanted Laptops and Tablets for our pupils
We’re asking Red Kite Learning Trust parents and the wider community to help us collect and re-purpose good quality laptops and tablets for pupils in RKLT schools for the provision of Remote Education. Please help by delivering your unwanted devices to your school and donating towards preparation costs.
During the pandemic, we’ve made great strides to develop our ability to teach children remotely. Sadly, many of our children across our 13 schools in our Trust still don’t have adequate access to technology at home. This is unfair and we’re working urgently to bridge this gap. By partnering with our friends at Pudsey Computers, we can arrange to check devices, safely wipe all data and install software to allow access to education. Our schools will then give out devices where they are needed most.
Here’s how you can help, you can….
Make a donation here towards costs of prepping the devices – it costs us £20 for each device – please use the Just Giving site by following this link https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/redkite-learningtrust-1
Take in your unwanted devices to your child’s school – we need laptops with at least 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, ideally with a charger. Tablets should be undamaged, Android 5.0/IOS 11 or higher (keyboards, mice and flatscreen monitors are also useful)
Help spread the word of our campaign – please share this page now with friends, family and business contacts.
Thank you so much – we can make a real difference together.
