Detail from the academic year 2013-2014:

School games intra-house skipping competition - Summer 2014

At the end of the summer term 2014, the Sports Crew organised at whole school skipping competition.  Children in each class competed in house teams to skip for as long as possible as a group.  The teachers were very impressed with the determination, passion, teamwork, self-belief, honesty and respect shown by the children, and many of these children were rewarded with a sporting values wristband, and additional house points.

The timings and values house points were added together to give these results:

 Tigers 332

Panthers 303
Lions 369
Jaguars 330

Well done to everyone who took part, and especially the Lions for their winning score!

North Yorkshire Schools Cross Country - Report by Sydney (Year 4)

In September, a group of children took part in a Harrogate schools cross country event at Rossett High school.  Here we qualified for the North Yorkshire finals and were invited to compete at Catterick Racecourse on Wednesday 19th March.  A team of Year 4 girls were entered but we needed two more people for the team and we did a trial to find out who was fast enough.

The year 4 girls team was made up of: Sydney, Meghan, Izzy, Evie, Nancy and Lucy.  Our individual runners were: Adam PB (Y6),  Milly (Y5),Steven (Y4), Florence (Y4) and Niamh (Y3).

"I was very impressed with the determination shown by all of the children taking part, especially on such a huge track like Catterick Racecourse!" - Miss Brown

Harrogate schools Netball tournament - Report by Holly (Year 6)

On Monday 10th February, the two netball teams from Years 5 & 6 went to Harrogate Grammar School for a tournament against a number of other schools, along with Mrs Weaver who has been training us.

We faced some very good teams from schools across Harrogate and as teams we showed very good skills.  We won, drew and lost some matches leaving us placed second overall.  Alfie and Adam got a hat trick and Jack D scored two goals!

Well done to everyone involved: Alfie, Jack, Isabelle, Megan, Lily, Holly, Adam, Lily, Karleen, Oscar, William, Katy, Martha, Sophie, Asha, Kirsty, James.

"Everyone played magnificently, despite the poor conditions, and were excellent ambassadors for the school.  Unfortunately we narrowly missed qualifying for the next round." - Mrs Weaver.

This is our first report from sport in school!
