School vision for PE
At Rossett Acre, we aim to encourage independent thinking, teamwork and confidence, whilst boosting self-esteem through a broad range of competitive and non-competitive sports and activities, both inside and outside of teaching hours. These activities are a balance of the traditional and non-traditional, utilising our dedicated sports hall and fantastic outside spaces to the full. We take every opportunity to promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle and a life-long enthusiasm for PE, sport and physical activities. Children will first develop the fundamental skills of running, jumping, throwing, catch and balancing, and then apply them in increasingly challenging situations as they progress through the school, individually and as part of a team.
We are pleased to announce that Rossett Acre have been awarded the Bronze Kitemark for the second year running. Well done to all the children, parents and staff for their enthusiasm for PE, including those who have represented the school at various sporting events. We hope that this, alongside our Youth Sports Trust Quality Mark, demonstrate our dedication to improving PE and Sport at Rossett Acre. Here is to continued success in 2015-2016, where we hope to achieve Silver in both these accreditations.
Also, as part of our continued development of sport provision, below are some of the programmes and resources we are using in school.
